Name: Ani Age: 21 Why you joined: I feel that such a potentially interesting character is worth exploring, rather than shoving to the side. Life is made of choices, and I think it's best to explor Peter's mistake here, than learn about it for expirience! A short thought on Peter or Life: Everyone must at some time or another choose where to draw the line. I want to know where I stand before faced with that choice and I can only know where I stand through honest though, reflection, and contemplation. Name: my fandom name is Anna L. Milton, I post as MissMilton at FAP Age:21 Why you joined: I find Peter the most human and one of the most credible characters of the HP series, and while I do not in any way condone his actions, I understand and pity him, because he does what every single one of us would do under the circumstances I find flawed characters much more realistic and human than any amount of heroes in shiny armour and dark lords in their dark thrones. A short thought on Peter or life: The reason why so many people hate Peter is that he committed the unforgivable sin of reminding them of our human weaknesses - Voldemort did much worse, and yet we do not find him in the receiving end of the same virulent dislike; Peter is not an amusing villain because he does not have the blinding light of certainty. He is as weak as we are, and some resent that. Name you wish to appear on the list: Azriona Age:26 Why you joined: Because I'm a very good devil's advocate A short thought on Peter or life: The Harry Potter world is about the theory that there is no black and white, only shades of grey, and Peter is one of those shades. He's a really good example of the human race in general: no one is perfect, and sometimes we make mistakes, and often those mistakes can be disasterous. But there is always hope for redemption - as there is for Peter, in that he is indebted to Harry for saving his life (PoA). Peter gives me hope that no matter how evil one may seem, there is always a spark of goodness remaining. Name:Webba Age: 29 Why you joined: Peter is, at this point in time, not portrayed very well in the canon. He has not been developed much as of yet, and I believe that he is not as evil as people have made him out to be. Ergo, it is my effort to spread "Peter love" throughout the fandom (or at least a grudging civility). A short thought on Peter or life: Peter is, in my opinion, an "everyman" sort of character. As much as his behavior in the books repulses many, let us not forget that in the same or similar circumstances, most of us would choose the paths he has chosen. This is a bitter pill to swallow with some people, but it is a truth nonetheless. I believe that Peter will ultimately represent the truth that everyone can change and there is no such thing as no forgiveness, no matter what anyone does. Name: Oowth Age: 16 Why you joined: I fear Webba's Heering. JK. Because Peter seemed like the most realistic character of them all. And the easiest one to relate to when you aren't feeling like a hero. Short thought on Peter or Life: I believe that he felt insecure. He wasn't given enough support. But then the chance to join the dark side came and he could be powerful. Name: Kel Age: 14, nearly 15 (I feel so young!) Why you joined: Meh... I honestly have no idea, since I er... don't like Peter (OK, I hate him). I guess I was just interested to see why others liked him, and had some stuff I wanted to see for my fic, and I got involved in the discussion. Short thought on Peter or Life: I've never been faced with the choice to betray my friends or suffer myself, but I would quite possibly react in the same way he did it. Name: Riibu Age: 31 Why You Joined: I felt that Peter is too often neglected or pictured as an underdeveloped character in fan fiction. I like more profound discussions about his controversial character. A short thought on Peter or life: Peter has done some very bad deeds, but no one is purely evil. In his weakness he is in my opinion a very human character. Name:**** (will perhaps tell you later) Age: 14 Reason for joining: Unknown. Probably because I'm tired of people who judge Peter for betraying Harry's parents without thinking of the reasons for it. Thoughts on Peter or Life: Do you mean Peter's life or my life? M'kay, I guess you mean Peter's. It seems like he is a very unsure person who don't trust his own (probably poor) abilities, and therefore needs to be surrounded by strong, talented people who also make him feel stronger. This wasn't much about Peter's life, but I might come back to that subject later Name: Jenna P. Malfoy Age: Sixteen Why you joined: There is a serious lack Wormtail fans out there, and it truly warms my heart to see a group dedicated to the promotion of Peter's welfare. *heehee* So, when I saw there was a crew of Peter-supporters, I jumped on the chance to join. Short thought on Peter or Life: My thoughts are that since Peter was constantly surrounded by people who were thought of as stronger and more noble than himself, his inferiority complex was continuously fed. He felt that he must prove himself, and when he thought he could have an easy shot at success and power, he took it despite the price. |
